Greek Yogurt
For this recipe, I used low fat Greek yogurt but full fat yogurt can be used. The difference is that your pudding will have a little more calories and fats. If you’re lactose intolerant, then use a dairy free yogurt without any hesitation. If you want to get more protein, then opt for soy yogurt.
Protein Powder
For the best results, choose whey protein powder for this recipe as it blends easily and provides a pudding-like consistency. If you prefer to use vegan protein powder or casein, be prepared to adjust with some milk due to their higher liquid absorption. Opt for chocolate protein powder for a deliciously sweet flavor without the need for additional chocolate. If you want my advice, use chocolate whey protein powder.
Cocoa Powder
This is the optional ingredient depending on the type of the protein powder you choose. As i already chose chocolate flavored protein powder, i didn’t feel the need for extra cocoa powder but you have to add some if your protein powder is of another flavor or has no flavor at all!
Leaving these 3 ingredients behind, The pudding may require the need of a sweetener such as honey and maple syrup but again, this comes down to the type of protein powder you have at home. Most of the products come with added sugar, some don’t. Make sure that your pudding tastes sweet by trying it a bit after blending. Add in some sweetener if you think the sugary taste is low.
